The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, acting under the provisions of section 76 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, declares Monday, 9th September, 2019, as a Public Holiday throughout The Gambia in observance of the advent of the Muslim New Year, also known as ‘Youmul Ashura’.

President Barrow and the First family pray that the New Year will bring glad tidings of peace, progress, and development for our beloved country.

Meanwhile, The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency, Adama Barrow will on Monday, 9th September 2019 travel to the Kingdom of Qatar for a three-day State Visit. 

Departure is at 6:00 p.m. and those invited to see off the president are requested to be at the airport at least half an hour before his departure
